Is there a way to market to customers through email?

Is there a way to market to customers through email? I hate telemarketing. Especially when Im the only one doing so in my office while everyone is design websites , programming or other jobs which isnt like mine.
Its dead quiet here and I hate to be the only one talking.

Is there a way I can send out individual emails to customers that doesnt go into spam? Not telemarketing but still..
