I used to work for BofA until January 2008, and usually you may open a new account with the same bank or with a new bank with no problem if the balance owed was paid in full, and sometimes, if you are willing to re-open an account with the same bank they will waive some of the fees you might have incurred that lead to the old account being overdrawn. It never hurts to ask a manager. Don%26#039;t settle for the answer the first agent gives you if you are wanting fees refunded though, they are taught to say no to just about everything. Ask for a manager and be polite about it, and you might find yourself owing less!Other Answers (3)

Have you ever been reported to chexsystems ???? If not, open up an account now with 50 bucks and then when they open it for you....deposit the rest if you want to switch banks...Changing the banking will not affect your credit score.
