Barnaby is correct but even if the company is not in business any longer have some one research these bonds as the company may have been bought by a larger company and they may have converted to stock and you may be rich. I know of a case where this happened and the lady gave the bonds to her neighbor who was into the markets and he discovered that an old dairy stock was now Bordens and the stock had split so many times over the years it was worth millionsOther Answers (2)

Wow...
They don%26#039;t even offer bearer bonds any more. (This is where coupons are attached to the original bond amount and the interest is paid through these coupons to the bearer)
Take them to your local bank and they will take care of it for you.
The bonds underlying amount (5000 1000 etc..) will be valued, assuming that whoever wrote the bond (U.S. gov%26#039;t or Ford etc..) is still in business.
Love the bonds!!
