Sometimes. Many companies in NY rate married people under 25 or 30 years old less expensively than unmarried people in this age bracket. However, if your spouse has accidents or convictions in the last 3-5 years, these will be taken into consideration and could increase your insurance. If you currently have just one car on the policy and would be adding a second car along with the spouse, chances are good that it will be cheaper to do that than keep two separate policies since you can get a multi-car discount that is usually 10-25% depending on the company. 67% 2 VotesOther Answers (3)
